Dear SunCoast MCC Member:
This is a year like no other.
Your Board, Pastors, Re-Open Team, Staff and Volunteers have been hard at work continuing to adapt to what it means to be church, and to create worship, connection and make church business possible.
In this difficult year with the pandemic, the Board has researched many options in consultation with the denomination as well as learning what other churches are doing to hold congregational meetings safely, include as many people as possible and also adhere to by-law requirements (which do not support absentee voting). It has been determined that holding our Annual Church Forum on Sunday, November 15, and our Annual Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 22 after Sunday Services virtually, using ZOOM, was our only practical option. (a zoom link will be provided).
We want to be as available as possible to support you in receiving Board reports, the budget, or other materials. If you are not able to access technology, a Board member will be happy to have a phone conversation with you to answer any questions you have and receive your feedback.
For those who need a tutorial or assistance with accessing the meeting virtually, we are prepared to help anyone who has a computer or cell phone to be able to connect to Zoom – let us know if you need help to do so.
We will simplify the agenda of the Congregational Meeting and make sure all reports are available in advance to everyone. Our business agenda will be simple. The highlights will be receiving the financials and passing the 2021 SunCoast MCC budget, which the Board has been working on for months, and that has been approved for presentation at the upcoming meeting. There will be brief reports from the pastors and the Board.
The other very important item will be electing members to our Board of Directors. The candidates will be introduced at the Forum on November 15. This decision is so important in these times.
There will be time for questions and answers.
We have researched and discovered a very easy way to have everyone vote on Zoom, with instant results. We will practice voting during the Forum on November 15. It is easy. It comes right up on your screen and you only have to press your answer. We will give instructions that day as well.
If possible, we will make a recording of the Congregational Forum and Meeting available afterwards.
We need your feedback ASAP, so we can be faithful in making sure we can include and accommodate all members of our church.
