Ray Boltz began his career in contemporary Christian music more than thirty years ago. Although he was a gifted songwriter and performer, he was rejected by every major record company. His simple, powerful and emotional songs were deemed “not hip” by the CCM gatekeepers. Then in 1986, he found a home with a small, independent label called “Heartland Records”. They released his first project “Watch the Lamb” early that year and six months later they went out of business. Fortunately for Ray, Christian radio stations began to embrace his music. The title song “Watch the Lamb” climbed to number one at several stations across the US and Ray ended up selling more than 40,000 units through independent distribution companies like “Spring Arbor” in Michigan.

The success of “Watch the Lamb” allowed Ray to continue recording and his second project was released by “Diadem” records in Nashville, Tn. The first single from that project was the title song “Thank You”. The song went on to become named Song of the Year and received a “Dove Award” from the Gospel Music Association in 1990. In 1992 Ray signed with Word Records and released the album “Season Change”. His follow up to that record was called “Allegiance” and it contained two of Ray’s most popular songs, “I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb” and “The Anchor Holds”. “I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb” also won a “Dove Award” and was named “Inspirational Song of the Year”. Since that first album was released in 1986, Ray has sold more than 4.5 million records and had over a dozen number one radio singles. He has performed in every state in the US and in numerous countries around the world.
